Proso Millet has so many names: Its scientific name, Panicum miliaceum, broomcorn millet, common, hog millet, white millet, and Kashfi millet. Archaeological evidence has been found of it being the first domesticated crop in Northern China. It is grown in so many places like Asia, Africa, The United States of America and Canada. Some varieties produce grain very fast, around 60 days after planting the seed. It is a monocot plant and a part of the millet and sub-grass family. America countries grow it typically to feed their livestock but it can also be used to convert starch to ethanol.
